The Long Service Award Competition is sponsored by the Tiverton Agricultural Association and is open to any person who is or has been employed in agriculture, horticulture, silviculture, viticulture or pisciculture. Entrance to the competition is free.
The winner in each class will be awarded a framed certificate and prize money of £20. Second place £15 and Third £10.
All prize winners will be sent a free ticket to the Mid Devon Show on Saturday 23rd July where the awards will be presented following the Grand Parade and Presentations at approx.3.00pm.
To the Agricultural Employee, resident in the Mid Devon District, who is currently in full or part-time employment and has been, without intermission (illness excepted), the longest time in the same service or upon the same farm.
First Prize Winners are not allowed to compete
for 5 years after awards
To the Agricultural Employee, under 50 years of age on 30th June in the year of the Show, residing in the Mid Devon District, who is currently in full time employment and had been, without intermission (illness excepted), the longest time in the same service or upon the same farm.
Previous Prize Winners over 45 years of age are not allowed to compete.

The Mid Devon Show is offering scholarships to people for the purpose of studying agricultural or allied trades either in the U.K. or abroad for the Show year 2010/2011.
Applicants should have some connection with the Mid Devon Show area or the Mid Devon Show itself but this will be interpreted in its broadest sense.
Applications should be sent to the Show Organiser by 30th September 2011. All applications received will then be assessed for suitability and those persons selected will be interviewed by a nominated panel on behalf of the Show.
The winning applicant/s will be announced at the Show’s Annual General Meeting.
The recipient/s of the award will be expected to make a presentation at the Annual General Meeting following completion of their project.
